Monday milonga: Bains::Connective

(via milonga.be)

The last chance to dance at the festival, and with the visiting maestros, was at the swimming-pool-converted-to-milonga Les Bains. Less crowded than the other days, the dance-floor allowed a pleasant dancing experience and made people forget about their sore feet and lack of sleep. A nice end of an excellent festival!

Sunday milonga: Vaudeville

(via milonga.be)

On Sunday all the festival participants with any life left in their feet gathered at the Theatre de Vaudeville for the much anticipated Surprise & Impro evening. The maestros were put in a circle and the audience got to pick and choose the couples. Some of the performances were closer to theatre than dancing but the crowd was positively amused. These are the combinations that came up:

After that, DJ Tomasso continued with the excellent music, and the several thousands of dancers kept on dancing on the 4m² floor, or at least that’s how it felt.

Saturday Milonga: Concert Noble

(via milonga.be)

This year the Concert Noble was even bigger than last year: an extra room for dancing and the live concert by Hyperion. The Concert Noble is definitely not the easiest place to take pictures, but it is by far the most exclusive chique venue of this festival.

Dancing

Then the dancing started in the biggest hall, and soon also took over the second hall and briefly the third: finally enough space to dance.

After party at La Cellule

At times when sensible people take to their beds, a considerable bunch of festival tangueros and tangueras gathered in La Cellule to just keep on going. The crack of dawn came and went, birds started their morning songs, and we all hid in an cosyabrazo.
